Boston, Massachusetts, October 30, 2018\u00a0–\u00a0<\/strong>Haitian American Business Expo, Inc. (HABEXPO) \u00a0\/ U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (U.S. Haitian Chamber) is pleased to announce that it has secured $100, 000 from Massachusetts FY 2019 budget.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fund\u00a0will\u00a0enable our organization to hire staff members to provide technical assistance and financial training to local Haitian\u00a0businesses in Massachusetts, closing the service gap to immigrant and minority-owned businesses.\u201d said\u00a0Hans Patrick Domercant<\/strong>, President and CEO of the Haitian American Business Expo, Inc. \/ U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce, Inc.<\/p>\n

\u201cA dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.\u201d said\u00a0Emmanuela Romain-Amedee<\/strong>, U.S. Haitian Chamber \/ HABEXPO Community Development Coordinator. \u201cThis quote by Colin Powell includes the words that came to mind when we received the wonderful news.\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to extend our gratitude to our legislative supporters and partners State Representative Dan Cullinane and Senator Nick Collins for co-sponsoring the budget amendment and everyone else who took part in the budget approval process\u201d, said\u00a0David Petit-fr\u00eare<\/strong>, U.S. Haitian Chamber \/ HABEXPO Trade & Business Investment Committee Chairperson.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting a diverse economy in which every small business community is valued and invested in needs to be of paramount importance in Massachusetts,\u201d said\u00a0State Representative Dan Cullinane<\/strong>. \u201cThat is why I was proud to author, file and fight for this budget amendment to secure this much needed $100,000 in funding to support the Haitian small business community through the Haitian American Business Expo, Inc.\u201d\u00a0Representative Cullinane<\/strong>\u00a0continued, \u201cI believe in this non-profit\u2019s mission and that the technical assistance and employment assistance they will be able to provide in the Haitian community will be a significant step toward ensuring the Haitian small business community can thrive in the Commonwealth.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I am proud to have played a part in delivering this crucial funding for such an outstanding mission” said\u00a0State Senator Nick Collins<\/strong>. “Providing assistance to local immigrant and minority-owned business is good for our communities and our economy as a whole.
