About the Committees
The U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce, Inc. / Haitian American Business Expo, Inc. has several committees that enable us to assist our members in their business endeavors.

LIST OF COMMITTEES:
Haitian American Business Awards Committee

Establishes guidelines for the HAB Awards. Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for recipients of these awards. Members of this committee are also responsible for all organizational aspects of the business awards ceremony.

Haitian American Young Professional Awards Committee

Establishes guidelines for the HAYP Awards. Members of this committee are  responsible for all organizational aspects of the awards ceremony.

 

Executive Committee

Defines goals and policies for the U.S Haitian Chamber / HABEXPO. Members of this committee are responsible for the overall day-to-day functions of the organization. This committee is responsible for management, planning, and overseeing the finances and the structure of the organization. This committee includes the President / CEO of the organization and members of the board of directors. All members within this committee operate under and collaborate with the President / CEO to make and to carry out key decisions for the organization. This committee is also responsible for the review of important or significant issues affecting the organization and executing a plan to resolve these issues.

 

 

Membership Committee

The members of this committee are responsible for various aspects of membership. This committee recruits new members and develops programs and incentives that will promote member retention. They are responsible for educating current and prospective members on the benefits of joining the organization and on business development ideas. The membership committee is also responsible for setting membership goals with input from members of the organization and members alike.

 

 

Trade & Business Investment Committee

Members of this committee are responsible for raising awareness of key issues affecting US-Haiti trade agreements. They are responsible for facilitating business opportunities for the Chamber members and assist investors and venture capitalists who are seeking opportunities in Haiti by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to do business in Haiti. The members of this committee serve as our organization’s liaisons between businesses, investors, and business development agencies in the U.S. and in Haiti.

 

Community and Economic Development Committee

The Community and Economic Development Committee is responsible for the supervision, planning, development, and evaluation of the Chamber community programs/events. Members of this committee promote and encourage economic growth through the strategic planning of development and sustainability programs for the Haitian Community. The committee also assist with fundraiser events, grant proposals and other means of obtaining revenue for the organization.

 

 

Event Planning Committee

This committee is responsible for the planning of our annual business expo and job fair, meet & greet events, workshops and other events hosted by our organization in Massachusetts and in other states.

 

Public Relations

This committee is comprised of Chamber members who oversee the chamber’s involvement in community-related activities. Members of this committee are responsible for carrying out press conferences and outreach via various media outlets. Committee members also serve as a point of contact for members of the press and other media representatives in the Haitian community. The members of the Public Relations Committee of the U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce / Haitian American Business Expo are responsible for promotion and advertisement of the activities executed by the chamber and the production of the organization’s newsletter.

 

Small Business Pitch Competition Committee

Credit poor business owners or cash strap businesses often require a few thousand dollars in order to make a capital expenditure that can significantly improve cash flow or create the ability to hire a new worker. This committee is comprised of Chamber members who oversee the planning of our Small Business Pitch Competition.
