Last evening, the U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce was honored to have our President & CEO, Dr. Hans Patrick Domercant, join Ambassador Lionel Delatour, Haitian Ambassador to the United States, and members of the Haitian Embassy delegation — alongside fellow Haitian community leaders — for a thoughtful and forward-looking dinner discussion on Haiti’s participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
What stood out most was the shared understanding that this moment is bigger than football.
The World Cup is a global platform — and for Haiti, it represents visibility, pride, and opportunity. The discussion focused not only on celebration, but on how this historic participation can translate into long-term impact for our diaspora, our entrepreneurs, and our next generation.
The conversation emphasized the importance of alignment between the Embassy and organized diaspora leadership, and how key moments such as June 13 can serve as catalysts for economic engagement, cultural diplomacy, and deeper collaboration between Haiti and its global community.
Dr. Domercant left the dinner encouraged by the spirit of partnership at the table. When leadership, community organizations, and entrepreneurs convene with intention, we move from conversation to coordination — and from coordination to measurable progress.
Haiti’s presence on the world stage must reflect unity, dignity, and forward momentum.
Grateful for the dialogue. Ready for the work ahead.
One Diaspora, One Haïti
