A Historic Coordination Meeting at the Haitian Embassy Sets the Stage for Haiti’s Return to the World Cup
Haiti is heading back to the World Cup after 52 years—and the Haitian diaspora is getting ready.
The U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce was honored to join the Massachusetts delegation in Washington, D.C. on April 2, 2026, for a high-level coordination meeting at the Embassy of Haiti, led by Ambassador Lionel Delatour.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Ambassador Lionel Delatour and the entire Embassy team for their leadership, professionalism, and coordination in convening such a meaningful and impactful meeting.
Represented by our President & CEO, Dr. Hans Patrick Domercant, the Chamber was proud to stand alongside a strong coalition of leaders, including:
Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune
Former Senator Linda Dorcena Forry
Dr. Géralde Gabeau
Dr. Alix Cantave
Marline Amedee
James Reginald Colimon (City of Boston Director of Global Affairs & Protocol)
Together, we are working collaboratively to ensure this historic moment translates into meaningful opportunities for our communities.
During the meeting, Dr. Domercant presented a comprehensive Massachusetts-led FIFA World Cup initiative focused on connecting sports, culture, and economic development. The plan includes coordinated watch parties, cultural activations, and business engagement opportunities across multiple cities.
Importantly, this effort also creates opportunities for small businesses nationwide through our B2B Marketplace, HaitianBusiness.org—recently enhanced to allow users to promote watch parties, share FIFA-related activities, and access valuable business resources.
We invite you to read the full coverage of this important convening by our media partner Haitian Globe.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warm regards,
U.S. Haitian Chamber of Commerce
